From a group of comprising mainly working drawings for the Fleischl's Otago Peninsula, begun early in 1946, of which a number were, at a later date, incorrectly dated 1940 by McCahon. This is one of four drawings probably done after the Fleischl's Otago Peninsula had been begun, but before the studies for Rodney Kennedy's Otago Peninsula painting.
